Peace (Dusty Attic/ Meg's Garden)

Another holiday layout featuring beautiful Meg's Garden Christmas papers and lots of gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard.

On the "peace" mini word from the pack #2 (DA0476) and the "nameplate" #6 (DA0872), I painted them with "navajo white" paint (DA0903) and topped with german glitter glass and diamond dust glass.

On the "corner flourish" #1 (DA0628), I also used the white paint and topped with coloured glitter glass, but with a little less coverage than above. I wanted the gorgeous flowers and sprays to stand out against the pretty flourish.

Believe (Dusty Attic/ Meg's Garden)

A few weeks ago I received some gorgeous Christmas papers from Meg's Garden and I knew they were perfect to create a layout using the December Dusty Attic Sketch.

Here is the gorgeous sketch that inspired the layout.  Be sure to enter your interpretation of this beautiful sketch (link to the right side of the DA blog) for a chance to win some amazing chipboard!

Here is a close-up of the "Believe" title (DA0496). It was painted with "Alabaster" white paint (DA0902) and then topped with some diamond dust glitter glass.

The "scroll boarder #1" chipboard (DA0219) was finished the same way as above, with DA paint and glitter glass.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today, happy holidays!

Sweet Dreams (Dusty Attic)

A layout I created using a picture of my first born as an infant.  This is one of my favourite baby pictures of him (he is now 11 years old).  I dug out some Pion papers and then started to add gorgeous Dusty Attic products.

On the "sweet dreams" (DA0943) title, I randomly inked it with distress inks, leaving a little of the bare chipboard exposed (for a two-toned effect).

I treated the "corner flourish #2" (DA0629) the same way with inks (as the title), and then added some pretty "bridal veil" blooms (DA0805).

Sometimes an easy chipboard treatment is the perfect way to complement your photo and paper choices.

Dusty Attic NOV Sketch

This is a layout inspired by the November Dusty Attic Sketch Challenge.  I went a little retro this month and used some very old Prima papers and a photo of my daughter on her first birthday. In addition to chipboard, I also used some gorgeous Dusty Attic Celestial White blooms.

Here is the beautiful sketch (I flipped it). Don't forget to enter your interpretation of this sketch for a chance to win some awesome chipboard!  Just link your project on the Dusty Blog (top right side).

Here is a close-up of the scallop Lacing Tash, painted with Dusty Attic Navajo White and Dusty Pink paint.  I also used the same paints on one of the the Fancy Labels and the title from the Mini Words #1 pack. I splattered the paint to leave some bare chipboard exposed.

Next is a close-up of one of the gorgeous Baroque Corners set with some of the white paint splattered on.

Don't forget that Dusty Attic now sells GIFT CERTIFICATES - just in time for holiday giving!

Cherished (Dusty Attic Chipboard)

This is a layout I made as a gift for a friend, using a stock photo that can be replaced.  I complimented some beautiful Pion Design papers with three gorgeous pieces of Dusty Attic chipboard.  Lots of heavy distressing on this shabby-chic layout too.

The first piece of chipboard used was a corner flourish # 1. This is such an elegant flourish and you get 2 pieces per pack!  I simply painted it and then used some grey chalk ink on the edges.

The next chipboard piece is a birdcage #5... again you get 2 of these pretty cages per pack.  I used some white crackle paint and then lightly brushed it over with grey chalk ink to highlight the cracks.

Lastly, I used one of the words from the word pack #1. I inked the the title with grey chalk ink and then painted over it with Dusty in Colour Fine Silver paint.  This paint is so lustrous!

Dusty Attic OCT Sketch Challenge

Here is my Halloween themed layout for The Dusty Attic October Sketch Challenge.  Picture of my 2 boys doing "snow angels" in their candy a few years ago, LOL.  As I was scrapping this picture my daughter begged me to take a picture of her this year doing the same - too cute!

Here is a close-up of the beautiful Large Number Panel (DA1050) and the script title from the Word Pack #4 (DA1077). On both of these pieces I swept some Navajo White Paint (DA0903), leaving some bare chipboard revealed. Next, I went over it all with some Vintage Gold Paint (DA0926), giving the white an antique finish and the bare chipboard some glimmer.

Here is the amazing layout inspiration this month - I just flipped the sketch.

CM Sketch and a goodbye

I leave you with my last project for C'est Magnifique kits.  I have enjoyed being on the Design Team but am planning on starting full-time work soon and with 3 kids added to the mix, well... there just aren't enough hours in a day anymore.

Here is a layout I created using the October "Sweet Treats" kit. I used items from the main kit and the flower add-on for this layout. I even used a few pieces of Prima packaging from the flowers as layers around my image too!

This is the fantastic sketch for this month.

C'est Magnifique October kit projects

Sadly this will be my final full reveal using C'est Magnifique kits.  The "Sweet Treats" October kit features some gorgeous Maja Designs papers - the coffee in the arbour collection.

Up first is layout of my dad and the start of his family (now has 2 more siblings) when he immigrated to Canada from Portugal. Everything on this layout is from the main kit and flower add-on except for a few doilies from my stash.  I pulled out some old creative memories tools to create the scallop circle design.

This is a display layout I created. Everything on this layout is from the main kit and flower add-on except for the doily and some seam binding from my stash.  The seam binding was tinted using the ink the kit and I also stamped on the doily with that very pretty pink ink.

A unisex birthday card to add to my stash when an unexpected event occurs. Everything on this card is from the main kit and flower add-on.

A girly gift box (kirigami folding) to add to my stash when an unexpected event occurs. Everything on this card is from the main kit and flower add-on except the seam binding... it was tinted using the pink ink in the kit.

A peek at the main kit this month...

The flower add-on I used...

I will be back with one final share in a few days, using the kit sketch so stay tuned!

Card sets - C'est Magnifique Sept. Kit

I'm back today to share my last projects created with the stunningly beautiful and versatile "Nature's Journey" September kit from C'est Magnifique. The papers and flowers are to die for... so perfectly coordinated!

First, a card set with a beach feel to them. I used the fantastic ink and beautiful script stamp in the kit on plain white cardstock to create the background. Then, I added several layers of paper from the kit - easy breezy!

Here is another card set, again using the stamp and ink for the background. This set features lots of fussy cutting from the gorgeous papers. Lots of distressed layers on the cards for texture too.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today while I share my creations!

Dusty Attic Sept. Sketch Challenge

This month I was very inspired to use my absolute favourite Dusty Attic chipboard set for my sketch layout - the skeleton clock faces (DA0430). I never get tired of creating with these gorgeous clocks - and you get 4 in the set! I also used a newer piece for the "moments" title from the last chipboard release. There are six gorgeous large script titles in the word pack #4 (DA1077).

click on images for larger views

Here is a close-up view. I wanted a matte and rustic look so I simply used gesso on the bare clocks and distress ink on the title - leaving some of the bare chipboard showing.

Don't forget to enter your interpretation of this beautiful sketch for a chance to win some chipboard goodness! Link to the top right side of the DA blog to enter your project.

NOTE: All of the other product used on this layout (with exception to the chipboard) was from the gorgeous C'est Magnifique "Nature's Journey" September kit.

C'est Magnifique Sept. Sketch Challenge

I am back today to share a layout created with C'est Magnifique's September Sketch Challenge. The picture is of my parents on their honeymoon in Barbados (it's amazing that they have this picture!).

I rotated the fantastic sketch like this. All of the elements on my layout are from the main kit and the flower add-on. I adore the colours in this kit so much!

C'est Magnifique September Reveal

Here is just a peek at a few projects I made with the spectacular September kit from C'est Magnifique.  I have more to come - but holidays got in the way of my creative time this month. The papers and flowers are to die for as usual... so perfectly coordinated!

Up first is a layout of the day after we brought my daughter home... sweet moment. On this layout I added a doily and a few leaves to complement the amazing kit. The gorgeous blue flowers are in the flower add-on this month (a MUST have add-on in my opinion... but I loooove flowers :)

Next is a layout of the kids all ready for their very first Calgary Stampede BBQ. Everything on here is from the main kit and the flower add-on. Don't you just love the rustic feel of these Riddersholm papers?

Here is a peek at the main kit - so pretty. I have so much left to play with!

And this is the "must have" flower add-on I used...

Well, that's it for today but I will be back in a few days with my kit sketch layout and then more to come a few days after that too!

Dusty Attic August Challenge

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!  I decided to give a VERY old layout a HUGE update using three fantastic Dusty Attic chipboard pieces (scroll, title and lacing) and lots of great Dusty in colour paints too.  I had to "borrow" this heritage layout from my dad since I gave it to him for his 60th birthday (picture of him and his mom). This was the very FIRST "antique" layout I created... but it looked so plain and really sad in the frame in my parent's house.  It was in desperate need of chipboard and paper layering for added texture.

click on images for larger views

It was actually the August Dusty Attic monthly sketch challenge that inspired me to revisit this layout... starting with the lacing piece to anchor the page.

Here is a close-up of the scroll and title chipboard that was primed, painted, crackle varnished, glazed and inked.

Another look at the layering of paint, crackle varnish, glaze and ink.
