Dusty Attic sketch with Something Tattered

I decided to do something a little dramatic - black, taupe and coral... but then I softened it all up with distressing, mists and masking. Not my usual to use paint and goop on a layout - messy but a fun effect. This is a picture taken the day we brought our daughter home from the hospital.

Here is a peek at the background I created with gesso, Something Tattered Stamps (Swirls Set and French Script Poem), coral mist and of course some gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard. I used many leftovers from my June C'est Magnifique kit (paper, mist, ribbon roses and doily die cuts) for this layout.

Here is a close-up of the lace border chipboard that I splattered with Dusty Attic Black Soot paint and then sprayed with a coral mist (it soaks into the bare parts of the chipboard). I even soaked up the leftover mist from all the chipboard (border, butterfly and title) with the ribbon roses - they used to be light pink.

I also used the gorgeous JUNE Dusty Attic sketch as inspiration.
